- What is TrueX Series Handheld XRF Analyzer?
Portable XRF Spectrometers can be used in any field that requires analysis of elements or compounds from Na to U. The sample is bombarded with X-rays, and the sample is excited to produce X-ray fluorescence.
X-rays usually knock out the inner electrons of the K and L layers of the element atoms, and the generated holes are filled by the high-energy outer electrons. High-energy electrons replenished to low-energy orbits radiate the excess energy as X-ray fluorescence.
These radiated spectral lines contain the characteristics of various elements. Like a fingerprint, and independent of the chemical valence states of the atoms. The intensity of the radiation is proportional to the concentration of this element in the sample.
